Early 1900’s Theater Posters up for auction THIS WEEKEND!

There will be something different at this December’s auction. Holabird-Kagin Americana will be auctioning off a rather sizable collection of Vaudeville Broadsides. These advertisements are for an early 1900’s production “OLD ARKANSAW.” These very colorful works of art are mounted on acid free poster board and feature several scenes from what is referred to as a “Big Melo-Dramatic Production.”

Also going under the hammer is a full-size (21″x 57″) Ad poster for “THE BUFFALO RANCH REAL WILD WEST SHOW.”

This show was formed not long after Buffalo Bill Cody’s cowboy extravaganza went out of business. As with the Vaudeville posters, this lithograph is in in excellent condition with very vibrant colors.

The auction will take place this Saturday, December 8 at the Atlantis Casino Resort 3800 Virginia St. Reno, NV. A preview will be held Friday, December 7, at the Holabird offices at 3555 Airway Drive #308 in Reno. Bidding will be live, by phone or on the Internet at www.HolabirdAmericana.com. If you have questions or would like to make a private appointment prior to the public showing, call (877) 852-8822.
