Important Addendum has been added to NTCA!

SOME OF THE FINEST TOKENS AND MEDALS COULD BE YOURS THIS AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER!

As the summer winds down, don’t lose your momentum! Holabird-Kagin Americana is proud to announce the 2012 National Token Collectors Association Live Auction, to be held this August 31st and September 1st in conjunction with the Annual NTCA Token and Medal Show at the Salt Lake City Community College in Sandy, Utah. This auction will be an opportunity to learn about and possibly own fabulous tokens, “good for” mirrors, collectible spoons, IOOF badges and regalia, medals, casino chips, and rare documents and photographs!

Other exciting items include rarities from more than 10 states, with the largest sections containing two major Utah collections and items from Washington and other significant token collections. A number of exceptional pieces offered includes gold medals, such as Lot 371: the 1884 San Francisco Mechanics Institute Annual Fair gold medal presented to the Hawley Brothers Hardware Company-one of the state’s largest such companies. We’re also excited to offer a unique selection of rare tokens from the Silverton, Colorado mining region, originally collected by Silverton saloon (Iron Mountain Saloon) owner Tony Giacomelli about 1910: such local rarities as tokens from Animus Forks-a mining camp ghost town sometimes known as the “Bodie” of Colorado.

By popular demand, we have also created an Addendum to the sale, consisting of almost 50 new lots of rarities from the Mel Reiter Dairy Token Collection. Also, you won’t want to miss the large collection of Nevada gaming chips and other ephemera and tokens from various Nevada mining camps. We’d also like to bring your attention to such items as Lot 651: The J.B. Weber Bimetallic Token Set; Lot 503: The Wonder “Good For” Mirror; and Lot 853: the stunning Currier and Ives Lithograph of Salt Lake City. Also, please consider the Parcell collection, the fantastic Wheeler collection out of Arizona, and the last of well-known Bill Weber’s Collection. Lot 349 is also sure to please: the Associated Pioneers of the Territorial Days Silver Medal, Edward C. Kemble, publisher of one of California’s first newspapers.

This 2-day auction of over 900 lots is expected to draw a crowd of both bidders and spectators, and promises to be a wonderful complement to the NTCA Token and Medal show. The auction is free and open to the public and the items will be available for previewing on Friday, August 31 from 10am-6pm, and on Saturday, September 1 from 10am-6pm. You’re also encouraged to preview at the Holabird-Kagin Americana office, located at 3555 Airway Drive, Suite 308, Reno NV 89511. The auction will be streamed live on our internet auction site with both national and international participation. For more information call 775-852-8822 or visit www.HolabirdAmericana.com
